Even though a lot of sites couldn’t do YAM as much as they wanted to last year, our YAM community is still as large as it’s ever been – and growing!
Nearly 1,000 people around the world have worked with YAM in some capacity over the past few years. New Instructors are being trained regularly, new sites are becoming established, and YAM is reaching more and more youth each year.
So, we thought it would be a good idea to celebrate the YAM community by learning more about who we are! That means we want to hear from you! Yes, YOU! You are an important part of the YAM community, and we are excited to get to know you.
There are two ways you can share your voice with the YAM community: responding to a few questions, and writing your own blog post!
First, the questions.
Send your answers to any or all of the questions below to Maya, our Communications Specialist, at maya@mentalhealthinmind.com. A future blog post will feature some of the responses we get from you, and others from the YAM community around the world!
- What is a favourite memory you have from your time working with YAM so far?
- What is something you love about YAM?
- What is something fun you do in your life besides YAM?
- If you could (safely) travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you want to go?
- What is a message you have for youth today?
And if you want to share your voice even more, you can write your own blog post!
We’re looking for content with the following criteria:
- Approximately 200-600 words
- About YAM experiences and reflections, or content that would be interesting to a YAM audience (mental health tips and information, role play/theatre and well-being, wellness trends amongst teenagers, etc.)
- Preferably has media to accompany (pictures, videos, links to articles or research, etc.)
If you’re interested in submitting content for the blog, please email Maya BEFORE creating content so we can discuss the plan for the post together.
