After an active spring with several YAM Instructor Courses all over Sweden the fall term started off with two YAM courses, one in Gothenburg and one in Stockholm.
At the end of September we went to Gothenburg to train 20 new YAM Instructors. This is the second group that is trained there and they will do YAM in schools around the municipalities of Västra Götaland. Together with the group we had a week full of memorable role plays and conducive discussions. We wish them the best of luck, and we are excited to hear more about their experiences doing YAM with youth in Västra Götaland.
One week after the course in Gothenburg the same team of YAM Trainers re-joined in Stockholm to train a group of 20, consisting of school counselors, school nurses and area developers from Täby municipality and Botkyrka municipality. These are the first YAM Instructors to be trained within Stockholm County that will perform YAM in schools outside the ongoing research project in Stockholm. It was a very committed and enthusiastic group, where many experiences and reflections were shared between the participants. We hope to continue this exchange when the new instructors join us and the other YAM Instructors in Stockholm during our future debriefings.
With a lot of energy derived from these two courses we look forward to the upcoming courses next year!
