14,000 YAM students in Texas and what is the “yammies”?

The UT Southwestern Center for Depression Research and Clinical Care (CDRC) YAM Texas team wrapped up its third year of working with Texas schools. In the 2018-2019 academic year, YAM Texas collaborated with 27 schools, reaching 6,760 students. In total, YAM Texas has impacted over 14,000 students! We look forward to examining the outcomes for the approximately 3,000 students who participated in the research study conducted by Jennifer Hughes, PhD, MPH, and Madhukar Trivedi, MD.

Student responses to “What did you like best about YAM?”
One of the questions from our program evaluation survey.

We also had our second annual “Yammys” Awards, with categories such as, “Funniest moment at a school,” “Best prop used in a role play,” and “Most memorable quote said to a facilitator.” A special thanks to our local facilitators, Daniel Elledge and Marshall Motsenbocker, for their creativity in planning an end-of-year celebration

In closing, the YAM Texas team wishes to express gratitude to our 2018-2019  fabulous trainers/facilitators, Amanda Frederick and Luis Gutierrez, and fantastic facilitators, Anne Fuller, Marshall Motsenbocker, Katy Brown, Susan Mahadi, and Daniel Elledge, and our YAM-azing helpers!
